Bayonetta is an unabashedly gory, violent, and racy action-adventure that stars a shape-shifting witch in the title role. The playfully wicked Bayonetta faces overwhelming mobs of angelic and demonic enemies, and meets them all in flowing, fast-paced combat involving both firearms and magically empowered melee weapons. As in combat action games such as Devil May Cry or God of War, high-energy battles play out with timing and combos, rewarding players with elegant ballets of bullets and beat-downs, leaving a bloody trail of fallen foes as Bayonetta proceeds through each scene.<br><br>Moving from air to the ground and back, players guide the witch hero through jumps, floats, and juggles against nearby foes, while blasting away at more distant enemies with her four pistols -- one on each hand, and one in the heel of each boot. When in her normal, human shape, her lanky yet fully feminine form is clad in what appears to be a skintight black jumpsuit, wearing her hair pulled back and a smart pair of Lisa Loeb-style eyeglasses. Coursing with supernatural ability (especially through that long, black hair...) she can take other forms when needed, such as an agile, black cat creature or an imposing, powerful hulk. Bayonetta is the first high-def console production from developer Platinum Studios, which is composed of former members of the celebrated Clover Studios, and creators of earlier landmark console games including Okami and Devil May Cry.

    Sexy character, spells, guns and gameplay

    How I sorely wish this game was made for PlayStation 4. I'd buy the remastered in a heartbeat. I had to keep my old Xbox 360 just to continue playing. Graphics are good. Gameplay rocks. Lots of shooting and killer execution spells. And what can you say about, Bayonetta, the main character? Nothing bad. She's a sexy witch who gives a who new view to the light versus the dark. Makes you think twice about that whole "Angel" hierarchy .lol And her outfit is Hella sexy. Love the storyline too. She finds out about her past and the twisted schemes of the "light".

    Not what I hoped.

    This isn't a bad game by any means. It's dripping with style and has some great presentation. However, the characters didn't connect with me and the game play is repetitive. But I get why some have fond memories of this game. Perhaps if I played this when it came out I'd feel the same. Regardless the price point of this game is fair enough that I think it's worth taking a chance on if you enjoy DMC style games or looking for a solid back compatible 360 game for your XBone on the cheap.

    Cheesy, but fun...

    First of all this is a beautiful game. The colors, sound, characters, etc. are very vibrant and interesting. The one thing that can get annoying after a while is the cheesy one liners. Don't get me wrong, they're funny at first, but get really old really fast. After a while they just become straight up annoying. Story is kind of all over the place and disjointed. However, this game was obviously built around sex appeal versus a deep story line. This game seems kind of insulting to guys in the sense that is plays off the idea that we're sex machines. Bayonetta's suit frequently flies of during combos, cut scenes are super-suggestive along with the dialogue. It makes me sick... Who am I kidding...I LOVE THOSE THINGS!!!
