Gamers explore and manipulate an open-world version of San Francisco as the gifted hacker Marcus Holloway in Watch Dogs 2. As in the first game, a massive network of computers known as the Central Operating System (ctOS 2.0) connects and monitors the entire city, from traffic lights and surveillance cameras, to the cell phones and personal computers of private citizens. When ctOS frames Holloway, he decides to join the hacking group Deadsec in an effort to take down the operating system and destroy Blume, the corrupt corporation that created it.<br><br>The version of San Francisco in Watch Dogs 2 is split into six different districts, with players exploring the city on foot or in a variety of vehicles, and using Marcus' smartphone to alter traffic lights, remotely commandeer cars, tap into surveillance cameras, operate cranes, and get detailed personal information on pedestrians, including access to their bank accounts. Gamers can get aggressive to complete missions, using explosives, melee weapons, and 3D-printed guns; they can choose a more stealthy approach and use a stun gun to incapacitate foes; or they can complete the entire campaign simply through hacking, using a remote-controlled car and a quadcopter for surveillance. As players complete story missions and side operations they earn upgrades for use on their preferred play style.<br><br>Watch Dogs 2 also offers a variety of features for multiplayer fans, including the new seamless co-op story mode. Online invasions return, letting users square off in one-on-one games of cat and mouse, while the new Bounty Hunter mode sends police and up to three gamers on a mission to track down players who are causing too much chaos online.
