    Our outboard is 13 years old, we needed to replace the cap as the metal thing on our old one was rusted. But a new cap did not fit in properly, so we have replaced metal parts, keeping our old cap. So it is not the right size for the outboard (Suzuki 2.5hp) which is 13 years old.
