A very good simulation but with a (non-fatal) flaw
I played its predecessor game called Emergency Room or ER for years and was quite satisfied, except that it ran only under DOS. I eventually had to give it up because modern computers no longer run DOS. I bought ER2 recently and found many similarities to ER and am still satisfied, except for a flaw: when trying to scroll an all-important list of diseases,the scrolling controls are far too sensitive. This makes it very difficult to play, but if you are patient and just tap on your mouse, you will eventually succeed. I asked the supplier to try another ER2 game, but he found this flaw in the second game as well.I have recently spotted a brand new factory-sealed version available for a high price and asked the supplier to try it to establish whether or not this flaw is indeed present in his ... In short, I think the game is suitable mostly for people interested in medicine.I also tried other similar games, notably another one also called ER which boasts animated characters and several specialized medical training programs in a modern hospital and according to rumours is very similar to a popular TV show. I was terribly disappointed in this game, because it contains virtually no medical knowledge and instead, concentrates on the internal politics of human relations in a hospital. I ultimately threw it into the rubbish bin. I also tried ER Code Red and ER Code Blue that are more recent versions of ER2 containing more human actors, higher resolution pictures, and a reasonably well-organized and medically coherent story line, but only 35 cases, while my original DOS-based ER contained 400 cases and ER2 contains 100. I suppose the reason for this limitation is the fact that the fancy and more movie-like renditions eat up far too much of the program. For example, ER Code Blue, available as a download, would require a download time of 15-18 hours even at a system with a wireless fast Internet connection of nominally 1 MB/sec. Yet I definitely prefer ER2 to ER Code Red and/or ER Code Blue and am willing to live with the less movie-like rendition and much better medical story line.

The purchase of this game was something I wanted to do because I had the game a long time ago and it was fun then and it proved to be more fun now. The excitement of predicting the nature and cause of an illness is thrilling and I really enjoy the feel of being a real doctor in real situations, with real patients complaining love the game alot everyone and anyone who enjoys being in the field or in the medical profession without all the real blood and gore it is worth the price.The purchase of this game was something I wanted to do because I had the game a long time ago and it was fun then and it proved to be more fun now. The excitement of predicting the nature and cause of an illness is thrilling and I really enjoy the feel of being a real doctor in real situations, with real patients complaining love the game alot everyone and anyone who enjoys being in the field or in the medical profession without all the real blood and gore it is worth the price.

OK game
I got this game for myself. I could play it for awhile then it quits. It calls for 95/98 windows and I have 7. It is a fun game when it stays on.

Bought it because I thought it was similar to the old Zelda game. This find them game would be for children under 8 years of age if smoking and occassional acrid language were not present.
