This is a great lid to have. It is made of heat proof glass therefore it can go in a oven or toaster oven. It #says what casserole it fits and the "c" stands for cover. This lids have been made from 1950s to the late 1980s. So there's no way to tell the age of the lids you have but some of the later casseroles say freezer safe so I imagine some lids are freezer safe too. I personally have put them in the freezer with no problems yet. I also use them in the toaster oven to warm bread. And I have used them on the table as a hot plate or trivet. Vintage oven proof glass is not the same as modern tempered glass it cannot withstand sudden temperature changes like putting it hot in dish water for instance is a sure way to crack and break it.
