    An in depth study of the trend of ultra processed foods backed up with references to many scientific studies.

    A fascinating book which informs us about the food manufacturing industry and the products it uses to con our bodies into thinking we are eating real food. Chris van Tulleken explains how the industrial ultra processed food has fuelled the epidemic of obesity, Type 2 diabetes and probably many other health conditions. It has a most important message for us all. It could change your life and improve your health.

    A compelling book for our times

    I was recommended this by a friend so had high expectations . The book lives up to expectations, the author has done well not making it too “science-y” but also giving references where needed. It is informative and well written. It is making me question what I presumed to be a generally good diet and I have made changes although I haven’t yet finished the book.

    A riveting read with OMG moments

    I could hardly believe what I was reading. I don't eat much ultra processed food, but this book has made me scrutinise labels even more. I was shocked to discover how much non food is in our supermarkets. How dare the big food manufacturers put this stuff in our everyday food, just so that they can make more money. There ought to be a law against it! A riveting read with many OMG moments.

    The best book for anyone interested in what the food industry is really doing to us.

    Really enjoyable read, full of interesting facts and figures, research reports and not evangelistic but will certainly make me think about whatever I buy to eat. Compulsory reading for everyone who wants to/should know the truth about UPFs. Could that be all of us?
