    The Philadelphia Italian Market Cookbook

    Love the Ninth Street Market and grew up with some of the shopkeepers' children. I wanted to share the book with some friends on Long Island and one copy went back to New Jersey with my buddy's son. He said he and his wife enjoy coming into Philadelphia to cruise the market. The historical information in the book is very interesting and the recipes are wonderful. It is a great chronicle of a unique Philadelphia treasure.

    trip down memory lane

    I collect cookbooks, am Italian and spent summers in South Philadelphia visiting with family. I haven't been back in years so reading about the market and the history of the area was a pleasure. Many of the recipes reminded me of my mother's and Grandmom's home cooking. I had forgotten about some of the recipes and can't wait to give them a try.
