Casing too big sor screw-on back.
Casing was too large for the back. The threads could not engage. The casing was a bit larger (outside diameter) than the REAL article, since I have another copy - but it's much worn. This was to be a replacement. I must surmise, that this was a knock-off, an imperfect copy, the original's factory would not make two slightly different diameter casings - even by mistake. However, he screw-on back was the correct diameter, it matched my existing, and that's why the threads would not engage. Casing was too large for the back. The threads could not engage.
