    Olympus pen e PL1

    I just love this camera. I own a Nikon and a Pentax, but this little camera is my favourite because of its size and weight with interchangeable lens and so easy to take anywhere and produce great photos.

    Simple, easy to use, great picture quality, excellent step up from compact.

    I bought this camera as an upgrade from my 'point and shoot', as I didn't want to spend out on a full DSLR as I'm not experienced or competent enough to use all the features on a DSLR. This camera is extremely easy to use, the instruction booklet is well laid out and simple to understand. The quality of pictures in natrual light is wonderful, for example, sun on the sea shows the dappling where my compact camera would merely wash out the effect. There are some good filter and 'art' effects for fun, and which do enhance the pictures. There is a rather nice soft focus one which I have found works wonderfully for taking pictures of my new grandson. In all, this camera is great value for money, and a lovely all round step up from a compact. Its's light, and the hand grip makes holding it very ...

    Close to pro quality images... really.

    This camera is a truly exceptional bridge for the pro looking for a holiday camera which will deliver great results. It has a very good kits lens with others available, amazing low-light performance and produces excellent jpegs if you don't want to go the RAW route. My only problem is the slightly convoluted menu system which takes some mastering; you really will need to carry the manual around with you for a few weeks. Some reviews suggest that the jpeg performance is as good as the RAWs; not true, but you will either need recent RAW software to get the advantage, as the 'ib' software supplied with the camera is clumsy, and is more aimed at cataloguing pictures than processing them. I am a professional photographer using £8,000-worth of Nikon gear but this little camera was perfect for ...

    I love this camera, it's worth every penny. Fast, easy to use & smart.

    This is a fantastic camera for some, a slightly frustrating camera for others. Long story short, if you have never owned a SLR before and want to move on up or if you have owned a basic SLR this is an amazing camera. If you have been using SLRs for a while or consider yourself a camera/photography enthusiast at anything above a novice level then you will find this frustrating eventually. But either way it is very easy to use even for someone who has never held an SLR before. The features are all controlled by the thumb wheel on the top right of the camera with the preset art modes and scenes in 2 sections so you can jump from macro to pop art to soft focus in almost 3 clicks. It has most scenes built in and the option to adjust the aperture and the shutter speed individually or ...

    This camera is fantastic. SLR quality in a smaller body!

    This camera is fantastic. The grainy film feature is great, you can get creative without having to know a lot about SLRs. The quality is very very impressive, and you can decide how much of the background you want to blur out!
