As a British secret agent in 1912, your assignment was to recover a stolen book. Simple enough. But, as fate would have it, your mission put you on board the R.M.S. Titanic on her fateful maiden voyage. As an eyewitness to history on the night of April 14, 1912, you were one of the lucky survivors of the catastrophic series of events that would forever lodge Titanic securely in the annals of 20th century lore.<br><br>It's now 1942 and war is raging throughout the world. Although you survived the ordeal of 30 years past, it effectively ended your career as a secret agent. Riddled with guilt, knowing that successful completion of that mission could very well have changed the fate of the world forever and prevented mankind's bloody 20th century of war, you've dreamed of a chance to go back and finish what you left uncompleted three decades earlier.<br><br>Now, through a bizarre accident, you've been slammed back in time to that very night in 1912. Miraculously, you've been given another chance to re-write history -- a second opportunity to change events and actually prevent World War I, the Russian Revolution and, possibly, even World War II. Determined to succeed this time, you grasp the chance and begin an investigation on board Titanic in an effort to eliminate your failure of long ago.<br><br>Titanic: Adventure Out of Time is more than a single gaming experience. The designers give you the opportunity to join in the festivities by taking the part of Carlson in his attempt to change history or, if sleuthing isn't your thing, simply enjoy a tour of the great ship. The latter activity is an interactive foray where the actors and actresses of the cast act as tour guides for various areas of the Titanic. <br><br>Gameplay is from a first-person perspective and your character moves from screen to screen much in the same way as other adventures of this type such as Myst. The interface is quite easy with movement accomplished via three keys (forward, left, or right) while interaction with objects is done with the mouse. As the manual suggests, consider the keyboard as your feet and the mouse your hands.<br><br>The environment in which you explore is a 3D, historically accurate digital reconstruction of Titanic with photo-realistic graphics. You'll meet and talk with more than 25 characters during the mystery adventure, each with a purpose as well as "memory circuits" that enable them to interact in a meaningful way as the adventure progresses. An interactive inventory, full ship-mapping of all eight decks and an in-depth mystery all await your arrival. Bon voyage!

    Titanic Out of Time

    I Love this game. I had it once before and had loaned it to my son and of course he scratched it up. So I decided to reodered it and I did. I like playing this game when the weather begin to turn cold because I have plenty of time to play it with out stopping to do this and that. I just bottled up in my computer room where I also have a bed and just play all night long with the heat set just right. When I get sleepy I dont have far to go.It just seem the weather is right for this kind of game. Just figuring how to move around that big ship is something else and learning what to say to people on the ship. It is very exciting to me. My sister and I stay up and call one another and talk to figure out what we need to do next without dying or where I been and where I have not been yet. This ...

    My Kids love it!

    If you like Titanic & games, this is a great game. My kids really enjoy the idea of being able to view all the rooms & deck from all levels of the ship. History & Fun.

    Still the best game about the Titanic no holds bared.

    I wish the original programmers would upgrade the game to Windows XP or 7. The Ebayer has installed a linkage to this original game and it plays as well as it ever did. The graphics are still fantastic considering the era it came from. I loved this game when it came out and it still a top game today. If you are a Titanic historian this game lets you walk the decks and explore this beautiful ship. The game emerses you on board the Titanic and you can travel all over the ship and get a feel for what she must have been like. A great game despite it's age.

    Excellent for fans of action games or fans of the Titanic.

    Excellent game based upon the Titanic. You are a secret agent and must finish several 'missions' on board or else it will lead to war (the game has several endings based on the success or failure of some or all missions). It is a game for win 3.1 or 95 so if you have a newer pc you will need to find out on how to make it compatible (on the web). It is also mac compatible but probably will not work unless some modifications are made to it (like pc compatibility). Excellent graphics/music. You can also tour the ship to find out more about it.
