3rd person shooter taking place in the French Resistance of World War II Feels like Mercenaries game meets The Godfather game with aspects of Assassin's Creed/Hitman Nudity DLC is a couple bucks on PSN, still there.

Almost Great
On the surface, this game has it all: Good storyline, elements of several great genres of games, and if you like, breasteses! ;-) There is a lot to like about this game. Part sneaker ala Metal Gear Solid, part first person shooter, part Grand Theft Auto, and part Role Playing... All of the greats are represented here. Several other reviews have stated that while all these elements are here, none are really fleshed out, and I have to agree. I played the game the entire way through save the freeplay targets (more as to why this is later) and while I thoroughly enjoyed the game, I found myself wanting in almost each of these areas. First, the good. The game plays well, looks great, and while some have dissed the voice acting, I didn't think it was that bad at all. I love the ... I love the pseudo black-and-white of Nazi occupied areas and how they transition to color when liberated. Some of the most enjoyable parts of the game were when I completed that mission that "freed" an entire area on the map. I liked the variation in the missions, and I enjoyed playing through the stories. My biggest thrills were escaping the Nazis reminiscent of Need for Speed's evading the cops thrills in their heyday. Now, the not-so-good. Some of the voice clips were tiresomely repeating. This is especially true of Devlin while driving. To me, it was far too easy to get caught and set off the alarm. While that isn't in and of itself horrible, it didn't appear that there were many missions that had an option of getting in and getting out without firing a shot. That has disheartening for the sneaker part of me since I loved that idea when it was played to perfection in MGS4. Also frustrating was the save mechanism. If you start a mission and complete part of it, if you have to abandon the game as I had to several times (life, you know...) I had to restart the mission from the beginning while respawning in the closest hideout. That hideout may be on the opposite side of the map from the mission, and caused a lot of frustration in backtracking to restart the same mission I may have made it 90% of the way through. The other issue with this is that if you die during the mission, you restart from the last checkpoint with all the same ammo you had before you died. There were several times I ended up able to replenish my ammo just by dying. It seemed like I was rewarded for dying, and that didn't make much sense to me. I would like to see this changed if there is a sequel. A pro and a con at the same time for Saboteur were the freeplay targets. There are literally hundreds of them! Each of them can be destroyed for a contraband (monetary) bonus. It's a great idea to get money, but with so many of them, you never have to worry about paying for ammo since you always have money to pay for it. You also have an unlimited supply of cars after you jack one of each type of them and return them to your garage. For cars that are a dime-a-dozen I understand that as your team can just go "liberate" another, but for unique cars, where do they keep coming from?? I welcomed that since leaving the car had no repercussions, but at the same time, LEAVING A CAR HAS NO REPERCUSSIONS! Would I recommend this game? Absolutely! I still play even after finishing the campaign. I just want to see some of the game play tweaked if there is a sequal. That would make the game truly great.

And if you tire of following the particulars of "La Resistance" there are always some nicely rendered nude women to ogle. But boil it down to the gameplay and you're left with a good chunk of clumsy third-person shooting with bits of awkward driving. The Saboteur borrows plenty of great elements from other games, but doesn't execute on them as successfully. That's not to say there isn't fun to be had because there's plenty. It just isn't as well constructed as many other similar games on the store shelf. 8.0 Presentation The ideas that drive The Saboteur are great. Paris during WWII is both beautiful and dangerous and the main storyline will rope you in. 7.0 Graphics The mostly black and white ... On paper, The Saboteur is a winner. The Saboteur is solid, but not among the elite
I enjoyed Mercenaries and Mercenaries 2, so I wanted to give the final video game from the maker of those titles, Pandemic, a chance. I also found the storyline to be original and creative. It's a solid game in terms of story and gameplay, but it lacks polishing. Some movements can be tough, especially the climbing up walls and running across rooftops. I just finished Assassin's Creed 2 and they got climbing and running so perfect that The Saboteur just looks really bad in comparison. However the running and shooting is fun, and there is a nice mix of stealth and action. Also the black and white versus color contrasts in the world is very nice visually. Its A Good, Game but not that challenging, it takes place in Pre WWII france. right when the Nazi take control, your and Irish Revolutionary Helping the French Get Back There Pride and Conuntry. The Controls on the Game are kinda slugish at some points and you sometime feel like supperman when you go into a battle with hundreds of nazi but dont get that hurt by there bullets, it very repetetive because al you mainly do is blow things up, maybe thats why they call it the Sabateour. Its still a fun game.
