This takes an absolute age to charge from new (5 hours to get tom the full 3 bars), but once going, I was able to sort out the tyres on all of our cars, with that one charge, without using the car battery via the 12V socket. There is an easy setting for the gauge, via a yellow knob underneath the display, so that you can set the correct pressure. What I did find though, was that having set this and the number being reached, it continued to pump. Not sure why, but maybe to allow for when you remove the tube from the valve, albeit the leakage was so minimal, to be nothing! Good choice too, to switch from pressure readings in Bar to LB's per sq.foot and kPA. This comes with a variety of adapters, as there is the ability to pump up mattresses too, but that isn't something I'll do, as our kids will use it when they go camping this summer. Read full review

This is an excellent and lightweight automatic pump. It is powered by a lithium-ion battery, so the mains lead is only there to charge the battery and cannot be plugged in during use. I thought I was buying a mains powered pump so was disappointed, until I realised that it has sufficient power to inflate four tyres (as long as they are not completely flat) up to required pressure, without the hassle of trailing wires. The on/off switch is large, but temperamental and does not always stay on meaning that you have to manually hold the switch down while the pump is working. This may be a fault with my pump. The information screen is clear and bright and the pressure readings are fairly accurate, but I recommend using another pressure gauge to check final readings.

Purchased this top of the range tyre inflator which id been looking at to replace my stone age ones. Its an excellent piece of kit. My only gripe would be when you first charge the batteries it suggests a minimum of 8 hours. I left it longer than that but still didn't appear to show full charge in any way. Just for peace of mind I contacted Ring customer services and they suggested it may need a few charge/discharge cycles. Not 100% certain that would be correct but you have to trust the manufacturers. As yet not used it enough to discharge for a recharge. Also the plug you plug in to charge the pump feels rather flimsy. Your frightened of misalignment when you plug it in or pressing/pushing it in too hard. But regardless of my thoughts on apparent faults would still recommend and buy again. Read full review

After much research I decided on this, having had several other types that either didn't work well, or didn't last. This is very easy to use, powerful and is very well made. The extra convenience of being cordless adds to the cost, but for me a price well worth paying.

I charged this product up from the main electric supply overnight upon receipt and used it the following day to top up all five tyres on a pick-up. One tyre was almost flat when I started. It was very easy to set up the inflator with the hard copy operating instructions which come in the box. The air connection is a bit fiddly but the compressor did the job quickly without the need for a battery recharge and cut-out at the correct pressure. I checked the pressure with a calibrated gauge and found that it was spot-on. I have recharged it and used it twice to top-up the tyres of a SUV. No probl so far.
