About this product

Product Information

Jukeboxes and their records, symbols of the lively days of petticoats and rock'n roll, are making a comeback. Collectors world-wide are searching them out wherever they can find them. The American chrome giants made by Seeburg, Wurlitzer, Rock-Ola, and AMI enjoy the greatest popularity in museums and collections, for they were in the witnesses of the "Golden Fifties". In Jukeboxes, these musical machines come to life again. Here is the history of the development, the technology, and the stars. Here also is information on the manufacturers, a photo chronicle of their evolution, and advice on collecting, maintaining and restoring jukeboxes from the 50s and 60s. An illustrated index of model numbers by manufacturer will be especially helpful to the collector.

  • JUKEBOXES

I AM SURE THAT THIS BOOK WAS ORIGINALY WRITTEN AND PRINTED IN GERMANY AND LATER TRANSLATED TO ENGLISH. THAT IS NOT A PROLBEM, BUT SOME OF THE OLD MOVIE POSTERS, JUKEBOX ADD'S, TITLE STRIP'S FOR THE PICTURES OF SEEBURG, WURLITER, & AMI ARE ALL IN GERMAN. THERE IS ONE CHAPTER ABOUT JUKEBOES FROM GERMANY (WIEGANT, TONOMAT-AUTOMATEN, NEU-ISENBURG, BERGMANN, NSM,& FAVORIT) THE BOOK DOES HAVE A LOT OF BEAUTIFUL GLOSSIE PICTURES OF MANY OLD JUKE. I AM HAPPY TO HAVE THIS BOOK IN MY JUKEBOX LIBRARY.

  • Great Book for the Jukebox Collector

I could not find this book in any local bookstore. Very informative. Several color photos of vintage jukeboxs. Full list of make and model numbers in the back from 1951 to 1964. Gives history of the invention of the phonograph record and ties it into it's eventual use in the Jukebox. A great read for the collector or just for the nostalgia of the era. Highly recommended.

  • Great Book On 1950's Jukeboxes

This is a great book with nice colored pictures of the old classic 1950's Jukeboxes by AMI, Rock-Ola, Seeburg and Wurlitzer. On pages 104 and 105 has the coolest 1950's Wallboxes to those Jukeboxes. On the front of the cover it shows the 1956 Rock-Ola 1454 120 Sel. 45 RPM Jukebox with more information and pictures of it on pages 82-84, looks a lot like their 1955 Rock-Ola 1448 120 Sel. 45 RPM Jukebox which is on pages64-66.
