This Complete book can add a bit to any D&D campaign but it will add the most to a Dark Sun setting. There is a lot of material on different Gladitorial areans around the Dark Sun setting. Which is interesting. Although if you borrow from a more historical reference such a Roman Gladitorial areans they are usually all shaped the same way. You would expect that this being the height of entertainment in the Dark Sun universe the Kings would have chosen the best style and shape of arena and maximized on that. It is a small point to be sure. The first part of the book goes into detail about the different kits for Gladiators. Some offer some interesting roleplay ideas. And the others offer just a lot of rolling of dice. There are some new weapons. Also there is a nice chart for partial suits of armour. There is some good information here but most will be valuable for a Dark Sun setting. Even with a Dark Sun setting this is not required material. Just about everyone in Athas had to be an expert survivalist in order just to survive childhood much less the arena!Read full review
I purchased it because I need the book to be able to have information on gladiator in Dark sun. I have never played Dark Sun and wanted to see what was available for this class.
