After having feelings of nostalgia for my old Panasonic portable stereo which sadly packed up many years ago, I decided to get another. After doing a bit of research on the internet, I discovered that the DT75 was one of the best Panasonic ever made. Not only that it is the best ANY portable manufacturer ever made. It is massively powerful for a portable system at 77 watts per channel. The sound quality is fantastic. The only criticism is that the unit relies heavily on electro mechanical mechanisms e.g cobra top, tape units. How long these will last I don't know being as it is 20 years old already.
This is one of, if not the best, boombox of this era.

This is Panasonics best unit and probably best portable music system there is. The unit is old technology but the 'front-end' ie the amp is all descrete components rather than incorporated circuits (microchips) the sound quality is as good or better than 99% of the top of the range units you can purchase today. The CD player produces a sharp and busy sound and is helped with amazing stereo separation. For its size it is not excessively heavy and has a pleasing, ergonomic, ridged styling and would not look out of place in any setting. Very reliable and user friendly.
