I bought this after having used a rip off version of a VCDS dongle from Temu which worked for a week then failed. So my expectations of this product were quite high really, given I'd seen VCDS in action. All the normal functions on it worked very well on later model cars. Where I found it very lacking and where I needed it most was on live data and connection to all my VAG vehicles. Connection to a VW Passat 2005 was almost impossible, it actually put more lights on the dash than there was before, ouch. Connecting to a 2007 Octavia 2 was good but only a minimal 10 live streams of basic data. Connecting to a 2015 Octavia 3 gave 25 streams of live data, but no DPF live data at all. Soot level in the DPF was the only useful value in the special functions section on this last car. So if you want a budget scanner to read and clear faults, recode for a new battery etc and have those expectations its absolutely great!!. If you want to see live data on the differential pressure across your DPF or any other live data for that matter, then, as I will do buy a VCDS dongle from a Ross-Tech distributer with 3 Vins. One final thought, would I Trust this to do a forced Regen of the DPF on my car. Probably not at the menus look a bit basic for such a complex task. All in all you get what you pay for, but this is by no means a poor product, just a bit too limited for my needs.Read full review

Needed a scan tool that could recalibrate the steering angle sensor and this did just the trick. Very easy to use and has plenty of features which I’m sure will come in handy in the future.

Works well for a home mechanic like me. More reliable than my cheapo OBD2 reader, plus on screen explanation of codes, the VAG specific functions work well, and the battery function is a bonus (creates a graph of battery voltage against time during an engine start - useful for checking the condition of the battery). Finally able to reset the service light on the wife's Skoda which cannot be switched off via car controls, no more chime on start-up :) Only 4 stars as I haven't yet managed to update it despite a few goes. Works fine anyway, I just like to tinker!

I was worried by one review that suggested it was a Chinese fake! It doesn't appear to be a fake at all. It was made by a Chinese firm in China and is well constructed, with good instructions and is easy-to-use. It does most of what I want (it doesn't store all the Jaguar-special codes, but does recognise them and you can look-them-up in the manual or online to get the full details). It does things like active monitoring which I might use, but probably don't need. I recommend it as a useful tool and is good value-for-money. Furthermore the supplier was very good too.

Has been used to diagnose a fault that had appeared on my instruments panel. Then to clear code after sorting out fault on my Audi TT. Mechanic said it more helpful being a VAG diagnostic reader compared to his general purpose one.
