    Fantastic viewing

    Wonderful insight of a past way of life. From the pompous lord who really did think he was a lord, Kenny the funny hardworking hall boy and of course the wonderful strict but gentle hearted butler, who turned out to be the real head of the household. The temperamental chef with his filthy hands, who didn’t really like anyone was a joy to watch. Absolutely loved watching this dvd.

    Edwardian Country House DVD

    This is brilliant. The po faced family that take on the role of lord and lady of the manor, and then the french cuisine provided by a really dirty looking french man wth filthy fingernails. But the true star is the guy that plays the butler, with his unhealthy love for one of the boy servants and the way he cries like a baby when the young footmen get drunk! This is reality TV at its best, a modern day Upstairs Downstairs but with real people. Compelling, I enjoyed this immensely when it was on the TV a couple of years back, and was so pleased to purchase the dvd.

    Review of The Edwardian Country House

    An excellent documentary that really demonstates what it would have been like to play any part in an Edwardian Country house whether that was "upstairs" or "Downstairs". Some real characters shine through such as Kenny, and you really get the feel of how inteligent upper class women must have felt restricted, not being allowed to anything other than, Sew, be musical and entertain guests , a fantasic series.
