Once you suss out where to place the bottom jaw and locknut in, it's east to wind down the top jaw with the adjuster bolt. The jaw profile is also good as it doesn't impede the spring coils when compressed. I'm happy I chose this product.

But this item appeared to have a bigger range and it indeed it did , it worked and compressed the springs so the top nut was under zero load. So from now on this will be used and my older unit will be recycled.
