I ended up cutting funnels down the side, slide them in the pole then used black electrical tape. Then mounted the cones. Not recommended. Also seller had to be reminded to ship.

I contacted the company & they sent me a list of tips on how to charge the light. After following the advice multiple times without results, I contacted the company again. Their response was to offer to send a replacement. They didn't ask for me to do the time consuming task of returning the defective light. The replacement was shipped the next day. It charged & worked as advertised . Thanks
