This fan is much quieter than the basic exhaust fan. Please be informed that both the fam housing and exhaust hose are larger than those of the basic fan's. You will have to enlarge the opening on the ceiling and either attached a 4" to 3" hose adapter or install a 4" hose.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
