    Good stack sound

    Sounds great at low gain ranges. I set my "sound" control to about 10 o'clock, some bass and treble both turned down some. It makes a great crunch rhythm sound, and when you then hit it with a tube-screamer type pedal, gives fantastic lead tone. Setting the "sound" control any higher results in too much hiss.

    Need a Marshall in a box? Try this one before you go all boutique.

    I first tried out this pedal as a salesman at a local music store. I had tried some of the Boss COSM modules in their multi track recorders and left kind of unimpressed. That is definitely NOT the case with this pedal. You get a wide range of overdrive/distortion that is musical at every point. It is very amp like in the way it responds to your playing as well as where you set the gain level. It is musical all the way from its most benign setting all the way to full on. It has a great lower midrange focus and can make a single 12" combo amp get a pretty convincing stack tone complete with that "cabinet whack" in the lower registers. It also, much like the Marshalls it emulates, responds well to having a TS9 in front of it with the drive set low and the level cranked. It just tightens up ...

    Totally cool

    I wanted one of these the very first time I plugged into one. Awesome saturation sound. Finally found one I coukd afford so I grabbed it. I didn't know it was so adjustable! Even better sounding than I thought. Always expect great sounds from Boss and this one does not disappoint. Gotta love it.

    Very usable

    Gives anything from slight crunch to over the top distortion. I used it in the slight drive position with my Marshal Origin 20 to get a modded plexi tone that cleans up with the guitar volume. Just what the doctor ordered.
