    One of the best book sets for kids

    Maurice Sendak. I hope this set never goes out of print, and it's unlikely to. The books wear well. Kids love the rhythm and repetition in Chicken Soup With Rice and join in as it's read aloud. They love being the crabby Pierre who said, "I don't care," (and is eaten by a lion). They sneer the line. They like four little books all in one little slipcase. If I were to make a list of the best 10 or 20 books for young children this and Where the Wild Things Are by Sendak would be toward the top.

    Kids classics from the 1960's and 1970's

    My first experiences with Carol King 's music was through the animated adaptation of these books by Maurice Sendak. A funny, modern way of teaching morals and telling stories that talks TO kids, not AT them. The Nutshell Library was a wonderful way for every child to have their own Library. Compact, but made with the same loving care of their full-sized counterpart, these books stand up to the normal use of a childhood. Perfect for a little person's Easter basket or Christmas stocking!
