Give your PC a decent Wi-fi connection
Where I live the router is in another part of the building. To connect an ethernet cable through would be very difficult. I have used the TP Link AC600 adapter without hinged antenna. As the PC does not face the direction of the router, it is then necessary to extend that version of TP link with a USB extension cable to get a workable signal. As the product picture shows, this High Gain version of TP Link AC600 has its Wi-fi antenna hinged from its free end so that it can project away from the body of the PC, and be orientated to get a better signal. There may also be some signal gain due to this type of antenna design. So this is a one stop solution to get Wi-fi for your 'unwired' PC.Where I live the router is in another part of the building. Easy to set up and strong signal
I purchased two. The first installed very easily and over came the problem that the internal wi-fi had in dropping the signal. This is much improved. Installation was very easy and no issues. Because of that I purchased a second. The installation was not so easy. Can't say as to why but it would not find the device and having found it would not find a router. After getting the latest down load from the web site (used the CD installed software first) it was okay. Again, over the nano dongle used before the Archer T2U Plus with the antenna worked better either with the antenna vertical or horizontal and at the back of the PC. I added this to an older PC because I needed wi-fi in the wireless N 5GHz band which the built in interface did not have. This allowed me to separate the network connection from the Bluetooth connection to achieve smooth streaming from the internet to a bluetooth device. This is working flawlessly compared to a cheaper device which used the wrong chipset that had no driver support. No special drivers were needed for Windows10, it worked "out of the box".I added this to an older PC because I needed wi-fi in the wireless N 5GHz band which the built in interface did not have. Worked for me, my old laptop is now up to speed again.
Had tried various wi-fi extenders to improve signal to my home office pc in another room but none worked. This plug in antena has done the job and I now get the same wi-fi speed in the office as I would if I sat next to the router which is situated downstairs in the lounge.
