    Great series!!!

    Yancy Derringer is one of those forgotten gems from late '50's TV. I would describe it as a cross between Disney's Zorro and the Wild Wild West. Well written scripts, great character development and recurring roles that become endearing. Can't recommend it more highly!

    Great picture quality

    All episodes have great picture quality. Some episodes (not all) have some problems with the quality of the reproduction of the sound. It would have been nice to ave closed caption. Overall the $ value of this product overrides any minor problems.

    An Early Television Classic

    Yancy Derringer takes place in New Orleans during Reconstruction, the series set the stage for the "private eye/detective" era of early television. Yancy was always "cool" and generally refined. The show typically avoided the many social controversies that were possible post Civil War yet Yancy's moral values were reflective of more modern times. The series has been compared to "The Saint" (the Roger Moore series) for good reason. The style has been carried forward to present day series like NCIS! The plots were good and fit the moral values of the late 50's. Well worth a walk through many memories.
