Gamers freely explore an alien planet, use armed mechs to battle hostile invaders, and try to rebuild humanity in Xenoblade Chronicles X. The story finds two alien races battling near Earth in the year 2054. The fallout from their fight nearly destroys the planet, and humanity scrambles to save the race by sending giant ships out into the galaxy. Two years later, <i>The White Whale</i> ship crash lands on the planet Mira after being discovered by one of the warring alien races, and its cargo of Americans joins the native Nopon race to establish a city known as New Los Angeles.<br><br>Though the Nopon are friendly, Mira is filled with many hazards, and the hostile alien attackers are always looking for a fight. Players can freely explore the world on foot, or climb into large humanoid mechs called Skells that can also fly, go under water, and transform into other vehicles. Gamers customize their character and weapons, head into the wilderness looking for stasis pods that were ejected from <i>The White Whale</i> as it crashed, and engage in real-time battles in which they can move freely and unleash special moves called Arts. Players can also join an online squad to share information and battle powerful world bosses.

Excellent Gem on the Wii U
This is a great Wii U game to have on disc as it is one of the largest games on the console (around 22 GB). The in-game world is massive, and due to the immense scale of the game, I find it highly unlikely that this game will be ported to the Switch like Tropical Freeze, Mario U, or Pikmin 3. All of the DLC for the game is just a series of free data packs that you can install to your Wii U's internal storage or external USB storage to speed up and reduce load times from the disc. I would say that only the first pack is really necessary, but the game does look and run noticeably better with all of the data packs installed, so it's a good option if you have the space available. The only annoyance I would point out is that the game tries to connect to Miiverse on every startup when the ... Overall, I would say that Xenoblade Chronicles X is an excellent value (I paid around $25) for a massive open-world game that you won't find on any other console.

If you like anime then you'll love this game. The faces and actions are expressionless. The whole game takes hours upon hours just to get enough money to buy good things as you level up - a bigger problem being all the battles are THE SAME over and over. The music must be from a preteen's playlist, it's really hard to get into. The "help" die off so quickly making it even harder for you to get things you need by finishing a battle. The graphics are pretty good but movement is very choppy. I don't know why this game is going for so much money. Awesome game! So Addicting
What a great game! So much to do and gameplay is really fun. All the options and missions make this game really addictive. The world is very unique and has some great scenic views with creative indigenous creatures. On the bad: Some of the cut scenes can be a little slow (too many pauses in between speaking), and I wish i could change the sound settings to turn down the music at times, but the game overall is great!What a great game! a game with something for every rpg fan
so this game is massive. The environment is full of beautiful landscapes and unique wildlife. It's truly a wonder to explore. The battle system is great too, full of different skills, techniques, team morale, and a fairly fast pace system to keep you on your toes. My only quarrel with the game is all the unnecessary bad language and overly sexualized outfits and character builds. Most parents will definitely not find it appropriate. A very, very good modern RPG
It’s a shame this came out on the Wii U since many people didn’t get to experience this game. I’m glad I’m able to play it now as it is a very good RPG. The graphics are gorgeous, the story is very interesting and the gameplay is a lot of fun and varied. If it comes out on the switch or a future system, I’ll probably get it depending on the price. Hard to be a current average price of $20, but I might just splurge to have it in a more convenient collection of games.
