    Goggles & Dust

    If you enjoy cycling history this is a very nice, if albeit small, book of fantastic images from a bygone era. The Horton collection comprises over a hundred-thousand images from cycling's past and were collected over many years. The book opens with a very informative introduction and goes on to explain the history behind the Horton collection and its acquisition of prints and negatives. The images are fantastically clear, clean and surprisingly crisp for black and white prints and negatives. The book centers primarily on a period from the 20's into the late 30's but includes a few images prior to WW 1. The captions are simple and to the point and the images show cyclists in all manner of competition, commraderrie, pre and post race action. The book conveys a true sense of the chivalry ...
