    Great scope for astro use, limited as a spotting scope due to long focal length. Superb tripod for the price!

    Everything about this 90mm MAK is well made. The focusing is very smooth, it comes with a much better tripod than I ever expected. I did set it up for astronomical viewing on a Celestron EQ-2 motor driven mount, installed a dielectric mirror diagonal and an 8 x 40mm finder. There is zero image shift, the views are very crisp and without chromatic aberration of any sort and collimation is superb. The only think that I read and will correct is the fact that the inner baffle tube at the rear of the scope (where the eyepiece is located) is very shiny. CN and YouTube have indicated this is correctable with matt black floss paper, something I have yet to do. Ideally this should have been corrected at Celestron's factory but hasn't been, the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. otherwise a superb ...

    Spotting scope

    Very clear but has no zoom.. I guess the zoom is two different lenses. Kinda inconvenient. Unit is not water proof and is rather heavy.

    Telescope replacement

    Have two Celestron refractors, C-80's. Purchased in 1980's. Also 8" Celestron SCT. This is a newer and better Optical telescope Am waiting on a better tripod bought on E-Bay.
