    A Good Idea

    Going on an 8 day trip in the remote wilderness of Washington state. Local law does not yet require a Bear container, but it is always a good idea to use one. Some reviews and forums suggest to repackage freeze-dried foods into Ziploc bags, in order to fit more into the canister. Here is an idea of how much Backpacker's Pantry Freeze-dried 2-serving meals can fit into one canister, unopened, in its original packaging: 2- Coconut Key Lime Pie 2- Colorado Omelet 2- Huevos Rancheros 1- Multigrain Buttermilk Hotcakes 2- Granola with Milk & Bananas 1- Chili Macaroni & Beef 1- Pad Thai 1- Thai Style Coconut Curry with Beef and enough room on top for 2- Ramen Noodle Soups Each meal is approximately 2 servings depending on each person's dietary needs, I eat a lot, so to last 8 days I will need to ...

    Large and works great

    Bear proof containers are often needed while camping and hiking in areas where bears have been seen and could be dangerous. This one meets requirements and is big enough to carry food for several days or a couple days for two.

    Stick with the original they work great!

    Probably one of the best bear boxes; a lot easier to open up then the plastic ones. Hard to find these nowadays.
