Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best-selling in Audio/MIDI Interfaces
This is a great compact device which provides a stereo headphone monitor, two audio outputs and one midi in. The advantage is that you don’t need a tangle of wires to connect it to you iOS device - it’s just one unit to plug and go. You may also keep your iOS device charge using a common micro usb cable rather than a proprietary expensive adapter. Disadvantages - No midi out and the iOS interface cable is fitted to the unit and can’t be replaced if damaged. It is ideal for modern iOS devices without a headphone socket and I would recommend it if you want to turn you iOS device into a keyboard player’s sound module.

I have only owned this for a week or so but it feels like a solid piece of kit. It works happily with any keyboard you can plug into the MIDI in socket. The 6.3mm outputs are gold-plated and nice and sturdy. I had to try a couple of chargers before I found one that would charge my iPad 4 via the Plugkey. It takes a standard micro-usb charger but I guess Apple products can be a bit fussy. Given that the Korg is trying to get a non-Apple charger to do its business for us, I am not surprised it took a bit of trial and error to find one that did the job. I've used it with a couple of Korg iOS apps so far, triggered by a Novation Impulse. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone wanting to use their iPad as an external instrument or as a sound module. The Plugkey only has audio outs, not ins, and only a MIDI in not out, so it does not function as an audio interface nor to send MIDI out. If you need to get audio (in a more solid way than the 3.5mm headphone socket) out of - and MIDI into - an iPad with a lightning socket, this fits the bill perfectly.Read full review

This product works really well. The only thing I would like to mention is that in my opinion all the cable connections should be added at the rear of the unit leaving only a larger volume knob at the front. The current tiny volume knob sometimes makes it difficult to be used as my fingers touch the connection cables right next to it.

Plug and play with both iPad and iPhone. The sound quality improvement i steD of using the built in iPhone Output was noticeable. Good midi timing response. Korg seem to be steaming ahead with their iOS products right now.
