Does exactly what it says on the tin!

Used this on a recent cycling trip in SW Scotland. It goes on easy, smells okay, and is relatively sweat resistant which is good news in the recent summer sun. It doesn't stop midges approaching you, but they will rarely land on you. However, you must apply it to all exposed skin and the midges will search for an area that it has not been applied to. I got two bites, one below my sock line and one in the hairline above my ear. They are persistent devils. Handy small size for backpack / handbag/ pannier bag. I used this one can for three days, liberally applying once each day and then one further time. There is probably about 50-60% of it left for my next trip!

Sadly, It didn’t work for me

I had such high hopes, even placing the order from the car after listening about the midgefest in the UK. I was hoping it would relieve me of the awful reaction I get from mosquito bites, but unfortunately not. Or perhaps Spanish mozzies are extra-tough! I was spraying on early evening and covering my arms and legs, but still ended up with 8 bites on one arm, plus others. The spray also made a mess of a silky top, leaving a grease-type stain on it. Really disappointed.

  • Used properly it’s a winner

Am easily bitten so have tried a variety of products most of which strip your nails of nail polish. Not smidge as it is a beautiful product to use, much like a body lotion. Spray on, rub in and away you go, smell is lovely too. In Rhodes just now and yes I have a few bites but not as many as usual and no bites at all on my legs or ankles. I think the majority of the bites I have is because I was lying too close to a hedge as all the bites are on that side, plus I didn’t use on my face where one of the bites is. Would def recommend.

  • My new best friend

I'm very allergic to insect bites so summer hasn't been much fun for a while. I've tried many different repellents and the only ones that worked were so strong they disolved nail polish and made my eyes water. Yes, they kept most of the bugs away but they kept the family away too! And I still got bitten once in a while. Then I read about Smidge and decided to order some. I discovered that, for once, the high praise I'd read in the reviews was completely accurate. It's easy to apply, non-greasy, smells lovely and has kept every type of biting bug away. I've actually sat out in the garden this year without flinching every time something flies past. And I haven't been bitten once.

  • Brilliant insect repellent

My Son used this whilst visiting Scotland and the Lake District with school on his residential outward bound course. He never once got bitten by the beasties. Easy to use and a little bit goes along way. It has a very pleasant smell and doesn’t smell chemically at all. The best thing is it is Deet free so it doesn’t irritate the skin.
