This is a little bit of an older model, so I had a hard time finding software that was compatible with my current ios. I ended up going with a free third party software, but finding it was a bit of a journey. Otherwise, the camera quality is great, and it's very easy to use after the correct software is installed. It goes in and out of focus a bit more than I'd like, but it's still way better than the camera that came with my laptop.

Webcam had to have firmware updated to work correctly on Windows 10. MS software doesn't work on 10, you just have to use the limited functionality of the Camera App in Windows. I use Cyberlink YouCam and it works great. The camera loses focus easily and takes too long to find it again. But, when in focus, the image is good.

My girlfriend and I are living aboard from each other. We use Micrasoft HD-5000 Web cameras for a video chat. This camera provides a great quality image in High definition 720P. It is good enough to see a birth mark on a person's skin. The only problem seems to get in the way is the minimum system requirements for this Web cam. It requires you to have a dual core CUP for a full HD image. In case if the processor is not powerful enough, the camera will just work in lover resolution. This camera also supports a true color technology and an auto focus lenses. The "True Color" is very helpful to transmit a real color of the image. The auto focus lenses will automatically focus on your face, however after a while this will become annoying, because the lenses will always change it's focus and temporary mess up the picture. Pros: The web cam has a very good quality image for its price. Its enough for home use to talk with relatives. Life cam software has good and funny features. The mic also works fine and people at the other side could hear without any major problem (connection speed is more relevant). Cons: Fixation device on monitor could be better.
Good price for the product.Arrived @ my daughters' (a gift) in a-1 condition. Generic setup allowed me to talk her through setup- less than 10 minutes- And WHOPEE we were talking face to face on Skype. Now I can see my grandchildren and they can see me in real time! Occasionally there is a significant lag time, but I think that is the internet overload of 5 children hopping around on the other side. Picture quality is good to adequate. I'm very pleased w/ my purchase. It lives up to my expectations.
