Solid, Quality, Cross Needle SWR meter
An excellent meter for the price. If you need instant information about how well your antenna system is working then you cant go wrong with this meter. You get both forward power, return power and SWR ratio reading all at the same time. This avoids the need to constantly twiddle with a calibration knob switching from forward to reverse power. Very handy for finding the centre resonant frequency on your antenna quickly. Pros:- Large easy to read cross needle display. Great power range. Solidly built. Cons:- Slightly out of calibration out of the box ( mine read 10% low at full scale, getting worse further down the scale ) The calibration is not a deal beaker as you can adjust it yourself if you have access to a good 50R dummy load and oscilloscope, Items most Hams will have. 10% is just ... This is a nice & heavy unit, but I found that SWR readings taken with power under about 7 Watts was often out compared to other meters in my possession that read correctly. The LED's that light up the display are also excessively bright, causing glare in the lower part of the display. If this was accurate at lower powers, it would be a good meter - but as it isn't, I returned it as it was unfit for purpose. Power readings were also quite a bit wild compared to other calibrated meters I have. Quality meter
High quality and precisely made. Usable mirror scale for accurate reading. For 400w legal limit this is better than the 3k version as needles are higher up the scales. Average and peak SSB works well. Excellent for accurate tuner adjustment for maximum output from a linear.
