    Heater Valve - hoping for reasonable length of service!

    I'm entering this on 10 April 2019 I fitted the valve last week, it worked as it should when I fitted it. This one looks OK - on the outside! But of course it's the internals that do the work, and the internals cannot be inspected without breaking it open. The one I removed last week was not very old, I am hoping this one will last a bit longer. Therefore this review would be perhaps more appropriate in about 9 months time after the car has done a couple of thousand miles! Time will tell.

    This heater valve is a perfect fit. Works great.The old one it replaced went straight in the bin. The body was held together with a large cable tie. Because the plunger that regulates the water flow had seized. When I pushed the cable to shut the water off, the body broke in half. I sprayed the new valve to match the car.

    Does the job

    This component does the job , however I had to file off about 1/8 inch from the side of the cable bracket to make it fit. On my 1098cc engine it was fouling the rocker cover preventing installation. This small problem may well affect others with this engine and the standard rocker cover as the tolerances would surely be the same.

    The item is brand new and fully functioning - I actually have used it for a Reliant Robin Mk1 as all the measurements are the same, it’s just the cable sits slightly differently.
