It's certainly an improvement
I was happy with this tower contraption to replace a gang-style extension plug device, but I was somewhat surprised to find that the actual lead was comparatively short - certainly not as long as it appears in the advertising picture. A bit of a drawback in my own circumstances. That does not detract from the innovation and the principle of the thing. I will just be more aware if and when buying such a device in future that I check the length of the lead cord. Bit of a problem
Electrically, this item is fine. The “problem” is with the cable storage in the base. Again, it depends on whether one adopts the practice of completely extending the cable as is recommended with a cable reel or one wants to place the item and rarely if ever move it again. But if one doesn’t take great care when first moving the cable and, possibly, later, the retaining lugs are apt to snap off. After that, it isn’t possible to properly store the cable again. It’s doubtful if the lugs can be glued back in place and probably wouldn’t take the strain of having the cable pressed against them.Electrically, this item is fine. The “problem” is with the cable storage in the base. Went for the cheapest 10 plug tower that I could find, in the uk and so far its doing a good job, long extension you roll up in the base, value for money, if it breaks I'll be back to report it..

For the cost it is good quality. Decent length wire. 10 sockets. Stand is sturdy enough. Plugged into a smart socket all my Christmas tree lights, garland lights and lamp can be switched on with ease and in conjunction with each other. 👍👍🎄🎄
