    Black Sails (first season) -- Both Interesting & Exciting

    An interesting selection of intermixed tales of pirate yore that are engaging and interesting. The language appears to be more realistic than what has been previously been presented in other pirate presentations. Numerous historic personalities appear to have more than one dimension that can become very intriguing. The active story line can switch back in time to self explain certain real time ongoing situations. An overall very good production, including the sets and ships, etc. This story presentation has been long awaited to be told, and this genre was missing from the modern day venue. As to rating, I would give this product (DVD) a 4-1/2 star overall rating.

    Black Sails-The First Season

    I didn't watch the first season but picked it up at the end of the second season and was hooked. I got my wife to watch and we watched the entire first season on demand in one weekend. We just finished the third season and now will have to wait for the fourth season. I like the fact that the story includes both fictional and actual characters from the time. This is no Disney take on pirates, it is very graphic and can be quite brutal at times and I think it gives a fairly accurate view of pirate life in early 1700's.

    do not let kids watch this series. their is more explicit sex than a porn film. its very much like real pirates would be. the picture and surround sound is great in the battle scenes. I recommend it for adults with an adult only taste.
