    Hard to find good wire

    I am a hopeless DIY audiophile who has gone off the deep end more than once in trying to improve my system's performance. My latest voyeur was in rewiring all of the point-to-point connections inside of my power amplifier from the stock 22AWG solid core nickel plated copper. While the system sounded "good" I had a sneaky suspicion that it could be made better with a few day's worth of cutting, twisting, and soldering. I used this wire in conjunction with 20AWG PC-OCC magnet wire twisting it into a Litz configuration. Some may say that I am certifiable at this attempt and should be locked up for a few decades to get my mind straight but my thoughts were much like world-class mechanics who balance drive shafts and universal joints to achieve that final little edge over the competition.
