A nice reader at a fair price
This is your basic e-book reader. It uses a different file format than Kindle, but epub files are available easily. It's compact, has a back-lit screen, adjustable fonts, and holds a lot of books with 8Gb storage. I just wish they'd use the more rugged USB-C connector instead to of the older mini style that's sort of trapezoidal shaped.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

I take back my previous bad review
I take back my recent bad review. Apparently there was a problem in my checkout of the e-book I was working with. I just tried another one & it works fine. The library book came in Adobe Digital Editions & the typeface is fine. I tried to read an Adobe PDF document and the type is too darn small for me; I'll need to get a magnifying glass. Wonderful ereader if you are trying to cut the cord with Amazon!
Bought this to replace my Kindle Paperwhite 3 (7th gen), and wish I would have done it sooner. Love the night light feature, as I often read to fall asleep. What really makes it beat the pants of of any Kindle is the flexibility to read so many different format ebooks on the one device: epub (basically a world standard), mobi (predecessor to Kindle's azw), rtf, txt, pdf (but are those easy to use on anything?), and bunches more without having to convert between formats. The controls to change font and such are much more flexible than Kindle. Batttery life is very good, and, best of all, Amazon isn't watching everything I do when I use it. What's not to love? This Kobo is my first ereader. I love the fact that it is simple to use, easy on my eyes, no detectable glare, small enough to carry easily in my purse, it is lightweight and lettering and lighting is adjustable. Great first ebook reader
The product came a week later then it was expected, but it doesnt matter. The Kobo Clara HD works perfectly. This is my first ebook reader and im totally satisfied with it. Nice screen, lot of options to choose from, the backlight for night reading is great and easy to use. I only use it for 3-4 days, but it works fine. Great personal reader
It allows you full access to all the books that your library has online unlike the kindle which is limited to its format. It is a bit more awkward to get used too but once past that hurdle it really shines.
