Paul McCartney - Memory Almost Full
The slick packaging of this set promised a great deal, particularly the folding out pages of the cover. The initial play of the music CD allowed a couple of tracks to register immediately as typical McCartney compositions but after a couple of listening sessions I am now completely hooked! Many of the songs contain McCartney's knack of setting a few notes in your psyche that you then can't forget. He is a master at the catchy tune and most of the tracks are now firmly esconced in my head. only one track disappoints me and that is Gratitude but that could simply be down to my own personal taste. I have admired Mccartney for the last 30 years, since I was 13 and hooked by Mull of Kintyre, and recent years had found my interest in his music waining but I opted to try this CD on a whim and I ... I love this CD. There are echoes of the Beatles in Paul McCartney's Memory Almost Full which seems to takes his music full circle. I find the music and words both happy and really sad as it seems he is coming to terms with all that has, and will, happen to him. It is not maudlin though - down to earth and full of memories for the listener too. I really hope that there is more where this came from but it almost seems like a farewell album.
