Power to Christmas Tree
This adaptor was to power a colour changing acrylic LED Christmas Tree. The supplied batteries didn't last very long so this adaptor was very good to replace the batteries. The plug was the correct size for the tree and when run for several hours the unit didn't get warm (indicating the motor in the tree isn't working the unit hard). As I only ordered late into the Christmas holiday and it's now packed away, ready for next time, I can't really give a view on reliability. Good on the outside, bit dangerous on the inside....
This thing is terrible. Mine has no CE mark so shouldn't be sold in the UK. Inside, the mains side has no protection at all, no fuse, no choke, no power spike protection, hence problems people are having with radio's. The solering is really bad with components skewed to the point they almost touch and one not connected at all! I'm throwing it straight in the bin. I've attached some photos so others can see it in all its glory...This thing is terrible. Mine has no CE mark so shouldn't be sold in the UK. it worked but not 100%
I bought it for my Foscam R2 which was powered by a 5V-2A AC/DC adaptor. When it was plugged into the camera, the light on the camera was on and system boot up fine. But when I tried to control the camera from its remote app, the camera died and rebooted. When the camera was plugged back into its original ac/dc adaptor, everything were fine. The problem was the adaptor.
