The Rustin's brass and copper restorer was so poorly packed in its plastic bag that when delivered most of the liquid had leaked out of the bottle and out of the plastic delivery bag . In future when you send this product out , you should wrap in bubble wrap and box it instead of a royal mail plastic bag . Victor Simpson

Excellent product
An excellent product that worked well on the large brass fittings on our front door, which had become very tarnished. Brasso was struggling, despite a lot of effort being expended, but the Rustins took everything back to the brass for final polishing with Brasso. Two important things to bear in mind when using (at least on the relatively large, open surfaces I have): 1. You will need a supply of 0000 (that's four "0"s) steel wool - anything less fine would scratch the surface 2. Even using the 0000 steel wool,.be careful to use full strands - not any part of the cut ends The steel wool, by the way, was easy to source locally in my small home town and cheapAn excellent product that worked well on the large brass fittings on our front door, which had become very tarnished. RUSTINS BRASS RESTORER DOES THE JOB
This is quite a small bottle but a little seems to go a long way. It does not seem necessary to soak the tarnished item for any length of time and I got quite good results by just brushing some on several times and leaving for a few minutes. I then used the back of one of those green washing up sponge pads to rub the item all over, then used a toothbrush to rub into the non-smooth surfaces. After rinsing and then applying a little of the pink proprietary silver cleaner I got a very nice brass finish, though it was a little brighter than a new brass item which will have been laquered. Overall it is quite a cost effective way to renovate an old item.This is quite a small bottle but a little seems to go a long way. Amazing how much brass you can clean with a little bit of Rustins. Well worth the investment for restoring vintage or antique items that have been unloved for years. Removes decades of tarnish easily, but make sure you wear rubber gloves. Leaves items with a fabulous satin finish which can be polished to a mirror finish or just left as it is for a more natural look on items you will devalue by over restoring. Love this product. Fantastic Product
Would Highly recommend this product for cleaning dirty brass. It saves on hours of elbow grease and aching arms! It does smell quite strong so would suggest doing it outside so you don't breath in the smell. Quick and easy. Would wear gloves and make sure you wash the item thoroughly afterwards otherwise it keeps cleaning the brass and can make some marks.
