We were looking forward to watching STUCK since we seen the previews, and after watching it, we gave it a C- rating(Slightly below average). It kept our attention throughout, the acting was a little less than okay, more of a knock-off film, and had an attractive plot though not very well written. The movie didnt have any scenes that were slow or dry, but the movie could have offered a little more action and suspense. Mena Suvari(from American Pie) carried the leading role. Theres a little bit of suspense, and the end offers a few unpredictable twists. Worth watching once, but may not be a keeper. Our Overall Rating: 5.5 out of 10 Rent It or Buy It? Mena never quite gets large leading roles as big as the past any more but I do like her which is the only reason I bought the DVD. OK, get ready for this and I'm not kidding. How ridiculous of a premise can you have in a movie before you get taken right out of the experience? But what if that premise is inspired by a true story? OK this is based on a true story and I REMEMBER the event well! The ending is way different. I've never really asked myself these questions before, but this movie had me mulling it over. The setup is simple but mind-numbingly ignorant. Brandy is a nurse at a retirement home by day and a pill-popping club girl by night. Everything is going great for her because her super-cliche boss just 'un'officially offered her a promotion. Mr. Thomas Bardo, however, is having an extremely bad day. He can't seem to catch any breaks whatsoever and is on his first night as being homeless. To 'pre'-celebrate, Brandy parties large, takes 'X' gets loaded, drives home and promptly hits this gent so hard, he is STUCK (title cut) in her windshield. His legs break and he flies headfirst through her windshield. Brandy just keeps on driving!!!! bloody passenger and all!!! Once home, she parks him and the car in the garage. The next 12 hours play out with such ridiculous ignorance (of which the film seems to be very aware of) that you somehow can't look away. That seems to be the twisted joke here. You watch this woman Brandy do everything in her power to not deal with this poor man who still alive and a bloody mess AND stuck in her car's windshield!! Rather than blow her future, Brandy leaves the man to suffer stuck in her car in her garage (YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP!) and plots how to deal with it! I won't reveal any more (spoilers). But also, if you like your Mena Survari naked, there's a rather goth humor scene you'll enjoy. That's all I'll say (-: The movie is average, but very odd and interesting. It is also (SAD!!) but a TRUE story!! (the end is different though). I remember the event well from the news papers! It's not going to win awards by any means but it was not boring and worth a one time watch. DTDRead full review
Features actors: Mena Suvari & Stephen Rea. Brandi is a hard working nursing assisant, who mainly helps the eldery in a nursing home type setting. When a one time chance comes along for her to be captain of the NA, she offers to work the next day on a Saturday.Meanwhile a man named Tom is getting kicked out of his apartment, with the only the clothes on his back. After waiting at the unemployment office for over 3 hours he is let down again when he is told his name isn't in their system and to fill more paperwork.Left with no choice he walks out.By the time Brandi gets out, she has plans to go to the club. After many drinks later she is driving home just when Tom is walking right in her path and she hits him.Instead of stoping she keeps going and keeps him in her garage, so she won't risk loosing her maybe new promotion.Brandi mistakes Tom for a homeless man, and thinks no one will miss him or report him missing.Brandi now has to juggle going to work the next day after the accident, and keeping the man in her garage quiet. It now becomes a battle between these two strangers one to escape, and one to keep it a secret.Good moral to this story at the end, whats goes around comes around. This movie is based on true events, dvd has special features. This movie was okay, was hoping for more action, it kind of lingered on, not really a movie to keep you glued to your seat.Wouldn't recommend to rent or buy.Hope this helps you decide. Please click YES at the bottom. Thanks for taking the time to read this! :)Read full review
Tom Bardo played by Stephen Rea (The Reaping) gets kicked out of his apartment and ends up on the streets. Brandi played by Mena Suvari (American Pie) is having the time of her life and looks forward to a promotion, a new boy friend and much more. Following a night at a party, Brandi hits Tom with her car and this begins the nightmare for both of them. This is a very well acted movie that you might find entertaining if you like slightly off beat movies. It is not the greatest movie ever made, but it is entertaining and tells a good moral story.
I love this movie. But you need to be OK with blood and that sort of thing. Based on a true story, but includes a lot of dark humor. . . .Like wacking someone in the head with a frying pan.
