Clean shave
With these particular razors there is a learning curve, from the length and weight of the handle, how much pressure to put on the razor, how to use shaving soap and what blades to buy. In short do you remember when In short, it'll be like having your first car some good some bad -Ben

Smooth Close Shave With A Little Practice
Very smooth and close shave with the right blade (you'll have to experiment -- we're all different). The head broke on mine from overtorquing it, but that's trivial to fix with a new part from maggard razors -- good to know. There's a learning curve, but in the end you'll get a better shave for less money and put no plastic into our waste stream, which is nice.

I'm writing this review based on my experience with the DE89L. The DE87 is a Christmas gift for my wife and I haven't used it. Im positive it will be the same great shaving product as the 89. When she uses it the first time I'll write a more in depth review.
