  • Low cost Tool that does an excellent job

Excellent Product locks and retains the strut/shock absorber piston in place enabling quick spring replacement. Although the tool takes a couple of minutes to fit, once fitted the piston stays at max height, no worries about piston moving down too far to enable refitting of retainers such as top plate bearings and nuts etc. Retains piston in position when fitting Road springs to the later type struts.

  • Good but not great

This is good, but not great. It will clamp struts firmly. However, once it's been used a few times the nylon/ rubber bushes are crushed under pressure and therefore have a memory effect. When you use them again they won't clamp as good. That's unless Laser can suggest away of reshaping the bushes. For one or two shocks it will be fine.

  • Essential workshop kit. Don’t know how I lived without one!

Such a simple idea for self retracting shock absorbers (mercs especially). We were defeated by one leg in particular and we called in all favours with no result. This cheap good quality little clamp makes the job possible. And don’t think lashing it up with a pair of mole grips will work- it don’t!

  • very small and brittel.

This is a very cheap tool, aluminum casing and plastic insert to hold the shockabsorber piston, this is very small tool not fit to do car suspension.
