About this product

Product Information

Decades before the Krays, London was plagued by gang warfare as vicious and terrifying as anything that was to come. Territorial tribes fought pitched battles for honour and pride. As the Bethnal Green Boys hunted Hackney's Broadway Boys, Clerkenwell fought Somers Town, the Red Hands haunted Deptford and the Silver Hatchets terrorised Islington. The first ever history of these intriguing street mobs is a riveting journey through the violent underbelly of one of the world's great cities.

I can't understand why Ebay are now limiting the options for rating the supplier to just "item description" when dispatch time and seller communication are also important. I imagine they do their best to keep sellers on their platform and limiting the ways that buyers can "make informed decisions" but I digress. All that aside, this was a great seller. Item received in great condition, well packaged and quick delivery. Will definitely use again.

  • Informative read

First off I will say that if you are looking for a book about the krays, then this is not the book for you. They are mentioned very briefly a couple of times but that is it, this book mainly focuses on the time period from the late 1800s to the 1950s. I have never read any books about British gangs before and thought that i would start with this one because it was well reviewed. It is very informative, tells you a lot about different gangsters and gangs and debunks a lot of lies and misinformation that have been said in other books. My only issues with this book is that there is so many different gangs and gangsters been mentioned that I tend to forget who is with who, but if you have a good memory then you probably won't have any issues with that. The other issue I have is that there ...
