This is an awesome album: the 50s Sinatra. Sinatra left the bow-tied crooner image of the 40s behind at Columbia Records and signed w Capitol Records in the 50s. It was here Sinatra teamed w Billy May, Gordon Jenkins and Nelson Riddle as he started developing his own singing style. Along w new musical movements and orchestrations, there is a freshness here, a new youthful energy in Sinatra's presentations, that still attracts listeners today. A freshness not found in music today. I've Got the World on a string, Don't Worry 'Bout Me, Young at Heart, and I Get a Kick Out of You. The bow tie disappeared and the long tie came out, "along w the hat." The new look to go along w the new sound: Love and Marriage, The Lady is a Tramp, Night and Day, Come Fly w Me... The generations that endured a great depression and two World Wars finally found something to sing about and Sinatra was the man who gave voice to those songs. Other decades had their icons. Sinatra was the icon of the 50s, and this album delivers that voice. Get one for your music collection. Read full review
