    So far so good

This product has so far resisted the heavy punishment inflicted by our squirrel population. Two other brands have been less resistant to the cunning swines. 😉

  • Most critical review

well made, but my birds not using it much

The birds don't seem very interested in this type. They do use it but sit on the outer frame and peck into the foods. The magpie still has a go at it and can get at the food. Have not seen the squirrels so can't comment on that. My previous feeder was a larger ball shape that the birds got inside, that seemed to work better, or maybe the birds are just not feeding at this time of year.

  • Not as good as it looks.

Looks great at first but on use I have found that the plastic perches are coming away from the main unit on the seed feeder. Lid does not fit very well on all three types of feeder, and on one the rain gets in and the contents gets quite water logged.

  • Does the job

For the price it is well made. The clip to hold the lid closed is a good feature.. We got it to keep the magpies from ripping the fat balls to pieces in 5 Min. Works so far.

  • Metal is Best

Have already got a metal fat ball feeder, so purchased another for my hungry birds. The squirrels still hang on them and try to detach them from the tree - to new avail. This metal feeder does the job perfectly as plastic ones do not stay the course. However, I note that my squirrel population have found a way to get to the fatballs by putting their paws through the gaps and claw out what they want and picking it up from the ground. Noted this action when the baby's were born. A very canny way to feed their young. No wonder I get through so many fatballs !
