Larry Lovage is back and bringing polyester pride to the big screen in Box Office Bust. Introduced in the first latter-day Leisure Suit Larry game, 2004's Magna Cum Laude, Lovage is the nephew of Larry Laffer, the original "Leisure Suit Larry" made famous in Al Lowe's inimitable string of risqué-humor computer adventures created in the late '80s and early '90s. The play style of Box Office Bust is similar to that of Magna Cum Laude. Gamers control young Larry from a third-person 3D perspective, in a relatively large, open setting, where interactions with certain characters and locations begin quest lines and trigger mini-game challenges. Although racing and platforming mini-games may be conquered with good stick handling or the well-timed touch of a button, the adventure game's plot-driven challenges call for clever puzzle-solving and creative thinking.<br><br>As the cinema-themed story goes, Uncle Larry Laffer finally made good and is the head of his own movie studio, but someone is revealing the deepest secrets on the lot. Young Larry Lovage hires on to do odd jobs, secretly hoping to root out the mole, and ends up uncovering much more than he'd expected. Although its ribald tone may be less overt than that of its immediate predecessor, the game's humor is unapologetically sophomoric and scurrilous, in the mode of films such as Porky's or American Pie. Box Office Bust features the voices of several real-life Hollywood actors and comedians, including Dave Attell, Carmen Electra, Shannon Elizabeth, Jay Mohr, and Josh Keaton as Larry. The game's "Director" mode allows players to use the movie lot's sets and actors to stage and shoot their own Leisure Suit Larry movies.

If you like the sexual humour and jokes you will love this game . It is highly recommended for adults and children under 18 should not play it .

Game ok, for what I paid for it.
This game is very "Adult Humor" The main character Larry is constantly making references towards sexual stuff, without directly saying what he is talking about. I think it is very humorous. The game itself is ok, good graphics. Moving your character kinda sux though, you don't have full view of everything. The screen will change direction and not necessarily show your forward view. You may get a side shot, or he may start walking towards you, even if you are pushing away. Kinda confusing at times. It is fairly fun for $20. I wouldn't pay $60 for the game. It is censored, so you don't see any nudity, or hear any actual curse words. I'm only on the 2nd level and they beeped out 2 words. If it was yours, please read before buying. Graphics: Average 5/10 The graphics are cartoon like and sharp. The colors are vivid and portrays the over the top model that this game is. The character models, however, lack desirability. The people in this game look like if you took characters from Area 51 and blended them with Jessica Rabbit you would get these deformed models. The frame rate is awful, even with installing it in the hard drive, which makes it difficult to concentrate. Sound: Average – 5/10 The sounds and voice work should have made this game a ... With such voice talents as Tom Arnold, Arty Lang, Jay Moor, Carmen Electra, etc., you had a winning combination for some great voice work. However, the poor script, delivery, and recording really inhibit this. The music is poor and cheesy, but for a Leisure Suit Larry game, it flows. However, it made me turn it off and play a music track instead. Gameplay: Spectacular – 2/10 Woof. This is bad. I really tried to play this game, but the repetitive missions, poor controls, and camera pans (that cause you to die I might add), are awful. When you play a game that is all escort based (drive here, drive there), and collect a set amount of lost items, you don’t expect to die because of the camera angle changing on you. There will be points in this game where you are doing nothing, but when the camera shifts, it shifts your controls causing you to fall and die. The story is poor, and even with the filth and naughty dialogue, does not make up for the poor delivery and innuendos. You will find yourself skipping the cut scenes because it is the same old jokes. Replay Value – Non-existent 1/10 Without multiplayer, this game has no replay value. Sure you can go achievement hunting for the statues, or try to beat the game in under 8 hours, but why would you want to? It may be more fun to punch yourself in the face. Overall – Really Bad 3.25/10 This would normally be a game I would buy on release, and especially at the $20 MSRP, but I rented it instead, and then I thanked myself repeatedly. It is so bad that it makes the legacy of Leisure Suit Larry stained with disgrace. Others will want to watch you play and hope that you don’t make future bad choices. The game is not good, not even close. The story stutters, and fails about two hours into the game. It is so bad that I longed to play Magna Cum Laude again. At least in that game it had engrossing mini-games and more interesting characters and graphics (and that was released 5 years ago). Only buy this if you have an urge to complete every Leisure Suit Larry game, and are a glutton for punishment. When this game came on my radar last year, I was excited to continue the hijinx that was established in LSL: Magna Cum Laude, but instead was left mad and wanting my time back.

This game should be called Leisure suit Larry: video game bust. The quality that you would expect from the series is not there. The game is not completely useless but appears to be thrown together without much thought and the video sequences are long and boring.( at least you can skip them )and are frequent! The new price of $20.00 says it all and you should wiat to pick it up for $10.00 or under ( just to complete a collection and in case you decide to throw it across the romm ) lol.This game should be called Leisure suit Larry: video game bust.
