    Tales to Compel Attention

    This is an excellent collection with good acting, production values, sets, and scores. The tales give quite different views of English society, from urban diversity (and, unfortunately, bigotry and push, to the politics of a cathedral tow, to the out and out melodrama of a failed marriage and the romances interlocked with it. All this and Wells Cathedral, too. Some of the schemes and romances involve Americans abroad, so it is not the insular setting of Jane Austen and the Brontes.

    nthony Trollope will be much better appreciated, thanks to this mix of his works.A

    If only there had been subttles for hearing impaired in this BBC classic set. All the settings and period costuming created a visual feast. May favorite characters were Pleasance and Rickmen in Barchester series. but Bill Nighy was a treat in He Knew He Was Right.
