Great lens for the money, well made and feels solid. The VC works well, better than the VR On my old Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR version one lens it replaced. Image wise its very sharp but it did need a little AF fine tuning to get it to that point. All in its a decent lens for the money and is every bit as good as the original Nikon f2.8 70-200 lens but with less vignetting on an FX body and a tad faster AF. If your after a decent lens in this class but do not want to brealk the bank its definately worth looking at. I now have the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC Di, the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 reviewed above and a Tamron 150-600mm f5.6-6.3 VC version 2 and really rate them all as super value for your money.

Superb value when you compare to Nikon equivalent that is double the price. Build quality is great, it has a nice balanced weight to it but most importantly images are very sharp, it really does take image quality to the next level if you're coming from kit lenses or cheaper alternatives. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this. The option of the Tamron Tap-In console puts your mind at rest to fix any auto-focus issues (no issues with my lens) and also ensure future compatability.

The zoom ring was initially a bit stiffer than I'd like it, but it got loosen after a day of use. I hate that the zoom ring is outside. I'd prefer it to be on the place of the focus ring. It is heavy bastard. Nevertheless the previous two cons it is very very sharp (shooting on Nikon D750). Really fast auto focus. I could manage to create sharp image @80mm on 1/3 sec with closed aperture, so for me the VC is pretty good. Overall I love it. It produces beautiful images.

For half the price of Nikons own 70-200 f2.8. You get a lens that is every bit as good in use. If was to really nit pick then maybe zoom ring is a little stiff. You have to turn with 2 fingers where as Nikons you can do with 1 finger. I would highly recommend this lens to anybody looking for a fast 70-200 lens.

Fast lock-on focus and tracking on my Nikon D7500. Super image quality and great handling. An improvement over the Mk 1.

Much better than the Nikon version. Clarity and sharpness is almost identical, but it's almost half the price. Makes you wonder how Nikon can charge so much when we have aftermarket lenses like these
