  • Brilliant 60's humour

Wonderful to get back to the humour of the sixties, the build up to the Pythons, and arguably better.

  • At Last The 1948 Show (DVD)

I am a fanatic when it comes to British humour during the period from the 1940's to the 1970's. This DVD set shows the fledgling stages of a key group of British comedians and comic writers. I find it absolutely fascinating to see the embryonic stage of many of the mannerisms and thought processes which were to develop into the Goodies, Monty Python's Flying Circus, etc. If this sounds rather dull, let me just add that my 15 year old son, who usually rolls his eyes heavenward and disappears from the room when I put my comedy disks on, rolls the floor in helpless and hysterical laughter to these old black and white sketches. Ah, they don't make 'em like they used to.....
